Why this annotation
The top hub genes FOSB, FOS, and JUN are canonical AP-1 immediate early transcription factors. EGR1 is a prototypical immediate early gene induced by growth factors and stress. BTG2 is an anti-proliferative immediate early gene. KLF4, KLF5, CEBPB, and ELF3 are stress-responsive transcription factors. VEGFA and EGLN3 (PHD3) indicate hypoxia response. GADD45G links to growth arrest and DNA damage. SQSTM1 (p62) connects to autophagy/stress signaling. DDX3X is an RNA helicase involved in stress granules. Unlike the other modules in this batch, M61 shows uniform or tuft-enriched (not pre_tuft) expression, no significant inflammation effect, and slightly negative treatment response — consistent with an acute stress/activation response rather than a pre_tuft differentiation program. The AP-1/IEG signature is the dominant theme.

Module annotations were drafted by a large language model from the module's genes, then reviewed and approved by a domain expert. See sources & licences.
