Why this annotation
The module contains FOXO1 together with PIK3IP1 (a PI3K inhibitor), PDE3B and APPL2. These genes define a FOXO-driven, PI3K/AKT-restrained quiescence/maintenance program, which is often seen in resting, less-activated myeloid and lymphoid cells. TIAM1, SSBP2, MBNL2 and REV3L are long, broadly expressed genes. Expression is uniform and low-to-moderate, so this is a basal quiescence signature that co-varies with the other uniform neighbor modules.
