Why this annotation
Hub genes IFI27 and IFITM2 are canonical interferon-stimulated genes (ISGs), and TNFSF10/TRAIL is also interferon-regulated. The module shows a type I interferon response signature co-expressed with epithelial markers (DSG2, CD24, ZG16B, ST14, ALDH1A1) in tuft/pre-tuft cells. The uniform expression across subsets and moderate upregulation in CD inflammation is consistent with an epithelial interferon response program.
