GUCY2C — Guanylate cyclase 2C
GUCY2C belongs to a gene co-expression module in 1 of 30 SCUBA cell types. Each module groups genes that rise and fall together in that cell type; the genes it shares a module with are its closest co-expression partners there.

Function
Guanylyl cyclase that catalyzes synthesis of cyclic GMP (cGMP) from GTP. Receptor for the E.coli heat-stable enterotoxin; E.coli enterotoxin markedly stimulates the accumulation of cGMP in mammalian cells expressing GUCY2C. Also activated by the endogenous peptides guanylin and uroguanylin.
