Why this annotation
Hub genes TYMS, PCLAF, TK1, TOP2A, UBE2C, DHFR, MKI67, STMN1 are canonical S-phase and G2/M cell cycle markers defining a proliferating epithelial cell program. ASS1, CEACAM5, CEACAM7, LCN2, CHP2, PLA2G2A suggest these are proliferating colonocyte-lineage (transit-amplifying) cells. The module is tightly coherent (all core membership) and shows mild upregulation with UC inflammation, consistent with increased epithelial turnover. Neighbor M10 shares cell cycle genes (MYC, WEE1, CDCA7), supporting a proliferation-differentiation axis across the batch.
