Why this annotation
The module is dominated by heat shock proteins: HSPH1, HSPA1A, HSPA1B, HSPA8, HSP90AA1, HSP90AB1, HSPD1, HSPE1, DNAJB1, DNAJA4, CHORDC1 — spanning HSP70, HSP90, HSP60, and co-chaperone families. This is a proteotoxic/heat shock stress response. H2AX suggests DNA damage co-occurring with stress. TNFSF9 (4-1BBL) and HES4 are outliers. ANKRD37 is hypoxia-induced. This pattern is consistent with cellular stress from dissociation or handling, and is a recognized technical artifact in scRNA-seq. Neighbor M83 (dissociation stress with FOS/JUN) strongly supports a technical stress interpretation.
