Why this annotation

All top hub genes are canonical heat shock proteins and chaperones: HSPA5 (BiP/GRP78, ER chaperone), HSP90AA1 (cytosolic HSP90), SERPINH1 (HSP47, collagen chaperone), HSPH1 (HSP105, large HSP), HSPB1 (HSP27, small HSP), DNAJB1 (HSP40 co-chaperone), HSPA1A and HSPA1B (HSP70 inducible forms), FKBP4 (FKBP52, HSP90 co-chaperone), HSPD1 (HSP60, mitochondrial chaperone, 10x enriched in pre_tuft). This is an unambiguous heat shock / proteostasis module. The module is coherent/core, strongly enriched in pre_tuft cells, decreased in UC inflammation, and increased post-treatment — consistent with a proteostasis program active in progenitor cells that is suppressed during inflammatory stress. Neighbor context: M85 (translation regulation) and M29 (immediate-early stress) are topological neighbors; M83 represents the protein folding/chaperone arm of the same integrated stress response network in pre-tuft cells.
