Why this annotation
Dominated by MHC class II genes (HLA-DPA1, HLA-DRB1, HLA-DRA, HLA-DPB1, HLA-DQB1, HLA-DQA1, HLA-DRB5) plus CD74, the invariant chain. This is an MHC-II/antigen presentation program. In activated human CD4 T cells, HLA-II expression marks late activation; it is upregulated in inflamed tissue (sig. in UC/CD) and decreases in remission. Uniform expression and strong coherence support a genuine T-cell activation/MHC-II module rather than APC contamination.
