Why this annotation
Hub genes MRPL22 and MRPS25 are mitochondrial ribosomal proteins (large and small subunit respectively). NDUFS3, NDUFS2, and NDUFAF3 are all subunits or assembly factors of mitochondrial Complex I (NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase). ECI1 encodes enoyl-CoA isomerase involved in fatty acid beta-oxidation. AIP (aryl hydrocarbon receptor-interacting protein) is a mitochondrial import co-chaperone. METTL5 and RPP30 are less clearly mitochondrial but RPP30 is an RNase P subunit involved in mitochondrial tRNA processing. The module is moderate coherence with low expression, consistent with a basal mitochondrial metabolic program. Neighbor context: M121 contains NDUFV1 and MPC2, reinforcing that these neighboring modules share mitochondrial OxPhos themes, likely co-activated in metabolically active proliferating DCs.
