Why this annotation
ULK1 is the master autophagy-initiating kinase (ULK1 complex), AAK1 regulates AP2-mediated endocytosis and intersects with autophagy initiation, AGFG1 (HRBL) is involved in endocytic/vesicular trafficking, FHIP2A links early endosomes to dynein-mediated transport. PTK2B (PYK2) is a calcium-dependent kinase activated in inflammatory monocytes. Together with neighbor M50 (MAP1LC3B, ATG2A) and M23 (PRKAG2/AMPK, FOXO3), this module represents the upstream autophagy initiation kinase program. The AMPK→ULK1 axis is a canonical autophagy induction pathway, strongly supported by the IBD inflammation upregulation pattern.
