Why this annotation
The module is built around the EC-restricted transcription factor GATA2 (20x) and DNAJC12, the aromatic amino acid hydroxylase co-chaperone typical of EC cells. These are joined by the BMP-feedback gene SMAD6 and EC-enriched signalling genes. Its correlation with the BMP signaling response (0.75) suggests a BMP-tuned regulatory arm of EC cells, partly shared with INSL5 cells. Several members lack a documented EC role.
