Why this annotation
Nearly every gene is enriched in EC cells, including the human EC markers CDHR3, CALCR and IGFBP3 and the dense-core vesicle and exocytosis genes CHGB, SNAP25 and STXBP6. This marks an EC-specific identity and secretory program. Enterocyte-typical CLIC5 and MPP1 are localized to EC cells and so are genuinely expressed there. The label names the CALCR/CDHR3 marker axis to separate it from the existing Enterochromaffin cell identity module.
