Why this annotation
LGALS4 (galectin-4) and AGR3 (anterior gradient protein 3) are canonical goblet/secretory epithelial cell markers in the colon. CD9 is a tetraspanin expressed on epithelial cells. CA12 (carbonic anhydrase 12) is expressed in healthy colonocytes/goblet cells and involved in ion/fluid homeostasis. FAM162A is a hypoxia-inducible pro-survival factor. TMEM141 is a transmembrane protein. SCP2 transports lipids/sterols. IL1R2 is the decoy IL-1 receptor with anti-inflammatory function. NDUFA1 and UQCR11 are minor OXPHOS components. The module is strongly downregulated in UC inflammation (delta = -0.363, sig.) and restored in remission, consistent with a healthy goblet cell identity program suppressed during active colitis.
