GPR146 — G protein-coupled receptor 146

GPR146 belongs to a gene co-expression module in 1 of 28 SCUBA cell types. Each module groups genes that rise and fall together in that cell type; the genes it shares a module with are its closest co-expression partners there.

Function

G-protein coupled receptor required for the regulation of plasma cholesterol levels. Receptor for CHLSN, a gut derived hormone which mediates an inhibitory effect of intestinal cholesterol absorption on hepatic cholesterol synthesis. Cholesin-binding exerts an antagonistic effect by inhibiting PKA signaling and suppressing SREBF2-controlled cholesterol in the liver.
