Why this annotation
Hub genes are a classic p53 transcriptional response / DNA-damage signature: PHLDA3, FDXR, AEN, BBC3 (PUMA, pro-apoptotic), DDB2 (nucleotide excision repair), all canonical p53 target genes. APOBEC3H is an interferon/antiviral restriction factor, and GZMH is a cytotoxic effector — these reflect an activated effector/genotoxic stress state. The module strongly increases with inflammation in both UC and CD. Best labeled as a p53/DNA-damage stress response. Low overall expression but coherent.

Module annotations were drafted by a large language model from the module's genes, then reviewed and approved by a domain expert. See sources & licences.
