Why this annotation
Hub genes RNF213, GBP5, GBP4, SAMHD1, APOL6, IFI16, IRF9 are classic interferon-stimulated genes, particularly IFN-gamma-inducible GTPases (GBPs) and antiviral effectors. IRF9 is the central ISGF3 component. The module is strongly upregulated in inflamed UC and CD tissue and reversed by treatment, consistent with an interferon-driven inflammatory program in CD4 T cells. RNF213 and APOL6 are also IFN-induced. This is a coherent IFN response signature.
