Why this annotation
Combines the YAP/TAZ mechanoresponsive immediate-early pair CYR61(CCN1)/CTGF(CCN2) with abundant nuclear/regulatory lncRNAs (NEAT1, KCNQ1OT1, XIST, ZFAS1, SNHG8, MIR29B2CHG, OTUD6B-AS1). CYR61/CTGF and NEAT1 are among the most reliably induced transcripts during tissue dissociation and mechanical perturbation of mesenchymal cells, and the nuclear lncRNA component indicates high nascent/nuclear RNA content. Given that its neighbor M98 is a clear heat-shock/dissociation module, this is best read as acute mechano-stress/early response rather than genuine fibrotic CCN signalling.
