Why this annotation
PTGS2 (COX-2) is a key NF-κB target and prostaglandin synthesis enzyme central to inflammatory responses. BIRC3 (cIAP2) is an anti-apoptotic NF-κB target. DUSP2 is a phosphatase that modulates inflammatory signaling. EGR3 and HES1 are transcription factors activated downstream of inflammatory and Notch signals respectively. SIK1 regulates inflammatory gene expression. ICAM4 is an adhesion molecule. This small module represents NF-κB-driven inflammatory effector outputs, consistent with its network neighborhood alongside M93 and M150 which also feature NF-κB regulatory components.
