Why this annotation

The module combines two co-activated programs: (1) heat shock chaperones (HSPD1, DNAJB1, HSPH1, HSPA1A, HSPA1B, DNAJA4, HSP90AB1, BAG3) and (2) AP-1/immediate early genes (FOS, FOSB, JUNB, JUN, ATF3, IER2, NR4A1, NR4A2, BTG2). This combination is a hallmark of dissociation-induced stress in single-cell experiments, where mechanical/enzymatic tissue dissociation triggers both proteotoxic stress (HSPs) and immediate early gene induction (AP-1). DUSP1 and ZFP36 are also stress-responsive. The uniform expression across subsets and weak coherence further support a technical artifact rather than a specific in vivo activation state.
