Why this annotation
IRF1 is a master transcription factor for interferon-stimulated and inflammatory genes. SOCS3 is a canonical JAK-STAT negative feedback regulator induced by cytokines (IL-6, IL-10, IFN). NFKBIE (IκBε) is an NF-κB inhibitor. BCL2A1 is an anti-apoptotic NF-κB target. CCRL2 is an atypical chemokine receptor expressed on activated macrophages. PHLDA2 is stress/apoptosis-related. The module reflects cytokine-driven JAK-STAT/IRF1 activation with NF-κB crosstalk, consistent with macrophage responses to inflammatory cytokines in the gut. The mono_mac enrichment of SOCS3, CCRL2, BCL2A1 supports macrophage-specific cytokine signaling.
