MYO5A — Myosin VA
MYO5A belongs to a gene co-expression module in 3 of 28 SCUBA cell types. Each module groups genes that rise and fall together in that cell type; the genes it shares a module with are its closest co-expression partners there.

Function
Processive actin-based motor that can move in large steps approximating the 36-nm pseudo-repeat of the actin filament. Can hydrolyze ATP in the presence of actin, which is essential for its function as a motor protein. Involved in melanosome transport. Also mediates the transport of vesicles to the plasma membrane (By similarity). May also be required for some polarization process involved in dendrite formation (By similarity).
