Why this annotation
Every gene is strongly EC-enriched (NXPH4 46x, KCNS3 33x). The hubs are SV2C (synaptic vesicle glycoprotein), KCNS3 (Kv9.3 subunit), and ITPR2/ESYT2 (ER Ca2+ release and ER–PM contacts). Together they mark a secondary EC vesicle-release and excitability program that is distinct from the serotonin-synthesis core of «Serotonin biosynthesis». Atypical genes such as PALMD and PAPPA are EC-localized, so they reflect genuine expression rather than contamination.
