Why this annotation
The module is localized to the small-intestinal peptide-hormone EECs (I, N and K cells) and is driven by the fatty-acid receptor FFAR1, with CCK peaking in I cells. The amino-acid transporter SLC6A19 with its partner ACE2, LPAR1, FABP5 and the secretion regulators SSTR2 and VIPR1 complete a proximal lipid/amino-acid sensing program. The enterocyte-typical genes are confined to these subsets and are therefore genuinely expressed.
