Why this annotation
This module contains canonical mature erythrocyte markers: RHAG (Rh blood group-associated glycoprotein), CA1 (carbonic anhydrase I, abundant in RBCs), ANK1 (ankyrin-1, RBC cytoskeleton), SPTA1 (spectrin alpha-1, RBC membrane skeleton), HBB (beta-globin), AHSP (alpha-hemoglobin stabilizing protein), ST6GALNAC1 (erythroid glycosylation), CD36 (erythroid surface marker), CD40LG, CDH1, APOC1 (peripheral). The extremely low pct positive (1.2%) and very low mean expression is consistent with rare contaminating mature erythrocytes or very late erythroid cells in the HPC sample. This is a mature erythrocyte signature distinct from M19's early erythroid/heme biosynthesis module.
