Why this annotation
The hubs CD44 and KLF5 are classic crypt and epithelial progenitor genes. CD44 is a WNT target, and KLF5 is an intestinal epithelial transcription factor needed for crypt proliferation. PIK3R1 adds growth-factor signaling. The remaining members (SH3D19, GPHN, TRIM2, CAST, TFDP2) are long genes with no specific role in this program. Expression is uniform, and the neighbors look like long-gene or nuclear-transcript modules. This module may therefore reflect the same artifact layered on a weak progenitor-like epithelial state, so the label is tentative.
