Why this annotation
This module combines classical monocyte inflammatory sensing and effector genes. FPR1 senses formyl peptides. NCF1 is a subunit of the NADPH oxidase. TNFRSF1A and TNFSF14 (LIGHT) are TNF-family signaling genes. GPR141, FLOT1 (lipid rafts) and HLX are expressed in myeloid cells. Membership is broad (39% positive) and coherence is core, so this is better read as an intrinsic monocyte program than as contamination. It also contains metabolic and autophagy genes (ULK1, TFE3, PLIN3, SLC25A37, P4HA2) consistent with an activated, recently recruited monocyte state. It neighbors the neutrophil-like M59 module, consistent with a shared granulocyte-like or classical monocyte axis responding to bacterial products in the colon.
