Why this annotation
Three NR4A family members (NR4A1, NR4A2, NR4A3) dominate this module — all are immediate-early nuclear receptors induced by inflammatory cytokines, LPS, and stress signals in monocytes. ETV3 is an ETS-family transcriptional repressor co-induced with NR4As. TGIF1 represses TGF-β signaling. PLK2 and CKS2 are cell cycle-associated but can be stress-induced. CYCS (cytochrome c) and ANKRD37 are stress-responsive. The module is upregulated in inflammation and downregulated in remission, consistent with NR4A-driven inflammatory transcriptional activation. Neighbor to M63 (AP-1/stress), supporting a shared immediate-early inflammatory program.
