Why this annotation

The top hub genes (FOLR2, LYVE1, GPNMB, DAB2, LGMN, LILRB5, SELENOP, PLTP, ITGB5) form the canonical signature of tissue-resident interstitial macrophages. FOLR2 and LYVE1 are well-established markers of anti-inflammatory tissue-resident macrophages; GPNMB, DAB2, LGMN mark phagocytic/homeostatic macrophages; LILRB5 is an inhibitory receptor on tissue-resident macrophages; SELENOP and PLTP are expressed in tissue-resident macrophage populations. The module is core-coherent, uniformly expressed at low levels consistent with a rare differentiated subpopulation within monocyte data. The negative delta in remission may reflect reduced tissue-resident macrophage accumulation during disease resolution.
