Why this annotation
CEBPB (C/EBPβ) is a master transcription factor for myeloid inflammatory gene expression and neutrophil survival. BCL2A1 (Bfl-1) is a BCL-2 family anti-apoptotic protein prominently induced in neutrophils by inflammatory stimuli to extend survival. FTH1 and FTL (ferritin subunits) are induced by inflammatory signals and iron stress. SAT1 (spermidine/spermine N1-acetyltransferase) is upregulated in activated myeloid cells and linked to polyamine metabolism and ferroptosis sensitivity. ZFP36L1 (TIS11b) is an ARE-binding mRNA decay factor that shapes cytokine output. B2M is a constitutive MHC class I component. H3-3A/H3-3B (histone H3.3) reflect chromatin remodeling. The module is highly expressed (mean 2.73, 84% pct positive), indicating a near-universal neutrophil program of survival and inflammatory epigenetic/metabolic state.
