Why this annotation
CCR2 is the top hub gene — a chemokine receptor canonically expressed on classical monocytes and important for monocyte egress from bone marrow. CYSLTR1 (cysteinyl leukotriene receptor) is also expressed on monocytes/macrophages. CD164 is a hematopoietic stem/progenitor and monocyte marker. However, all genes show weak membership and uniform expression across subsets, and pDCs can express low levels of CCR2. DSN1 and CDCA7L suggest some cell cycle association. The module is weakly defined and likely represents a mixed or noisy module with monocyte-associated chemotaxis genes co-expressed at low levels.
