Why this annotation
The module is dominated by AP-1 transcription factors (JUNB, FOSB, JUN, FOS, JUND, ATF3), immediate-early response genes (IER2, EGR1, NR4A1), stress-response regulators (DUSP1, ZFP36, PPP1R15A/GADD34), heat shock proteins (HSP90AA1, HSPA1B), and NF-kB inhibitor NFKBIA. KLF2 and ID1/ID3 are additional TFs. This is the canonical immediate-early gene / AP-1 activation program, highly coherent. It is a topological neighbor to M72 (EGR/MAFF IEG TFs) and M48 (HSP chaperones), forming a coordinated stress-activated transcriptional response in igA plasma cells. Suppressed in inflammation, consistent with plasma cell stress adaptation being disrupted in IBD.
