Why this annotation
Hub genes CDHR5 (cadherin-related family member expressed at microvilli), MYO7B (myosin VIIb, brush border motor), MTSS1 (actin dynamics at membrane protrusions), SNX9 (membrane tubulation/endocytosis), and CLMN (actin-binding calmin) collectively define a brush border/microvilli structural program. All genes are strongly tuft-enriched, consistent with the elaborate apical microvilli that define tuft cell morphology. GLG1 (Golgi) and GANC (glucoamylase) support apical membrane trafficking and glycan processing at the brush border.
