SCUBA

CEP250 — Centrosomal protein 250

CEP250 belongs to a gene co-expression module in 2 of 28 SCUBA cell types. Each module groups genes that rise and fall together in that cell type; the genes it shares a module with are its closest co-expression partners there.

Function

Plays an important role in centrosome cohesion during interphase. Recruits CCDC102B to the proximal ends of centrioles. Maintains centrosome cohesion by forming intercentriolar linkages. Accumulates at the proximal end of each centriole, forming supramolecular assemblies with viscous material properties that promote organelle cohesion. May be involved in ciliogenesis.
