CHD3 — Chromodomain helicase DNA binding protein 3

CHD3 belongs to a gene co-expression module in 2 of 28 SCUBA cell types. Each module groups genes that rise and fall together in that cell type; the genes it shares a module with are its closest co-expression partners there.

Function

ATP-dependent chromatin-remodeling factor that binds and distorts nucleosomal DNA. Acts as a component of the histone deacetylase NuRD complex which participates in the remodeling of chromatin. Involved in transcriptional repression as part of the NuRD complex. Required for anchoring centrosomal pericentrin in both interphase and mitosis, for spindle organization and centrosome integrity.
