GATAD2B — GATA zinc finger domain containing 2B

GATAD2B belongs to a gene co-expression module in 2 of 28 SCUBA cell types. Each module groups genes that rise and fall together in that cell type; the genes it shares a module with are its closest co-expression partners there.

Molecular functionRepressor
Biological processTranscription, Transcription regulation

Function

Transcriptional repressor. Acts as a component of the histone deacetylase NuRD complex which participates in the remodeling of chromatin. Enhances MBD2-mediated repression. Efficient repression requires the presence of GATAD2A. Targets MBD3 to discrete loci in the nucleus. May play a role in synapse development.
