ASH1L — ASH1 like histone lysine methyltransferase
ASH1L belongs to a gene co-expression module in 6 of 28 SCUBA cell types. Each module groups genes that rise and fall together in that cell type; the genes it shares a module with are its closest co-expression partners there.

Function
Histone methyltransferase specifically trimethylating 'Lys- 36' of histone H3 forming H3K36me3. Also monomethylates 'Lys-9' of histone H3 (H3K9me1) in vitro (By similarity). The physiological significance of the H3K9me1 activity is unclear (By similarity).
