PGM1 — Phosphoglucomutase 1
PGM1 belongs to a gene co-expression module in 1 of 28 SCUBA cell types. Each module groups genes that rise and fall together in that cell type; the genes it shares a module with are its closest co-expression partners there.

Function
Catalyzes the reversible isomerization of alpha-D-glucose 1- phosphate to alpha-D-glucose 6-phosphate. The mechanism proceeds via the intermediate compound alpha-D-glucose 1,6-bisphosphate (Probable). This enzyme participates in both the breakdown and synthesis of glucose.
