KIF3B — Kinesin family member 3B
KIF3B belongs to a gene co-expression module in 2 of 28 SCUBA cell types. Each module groups genes that rise and fall together in that cell type; the genes it shares a module with are its closest co-expression partners there.

Function
Microtubule-based molecular motor that transport intracellular cargos, such as vesicles, organelles and protein complexes. Uses ATP hydrolysis to generate force to bind and move along the microtubule (By similarity). Plays a role in cilia formation. Involved in photoreceptor integrity and opsin trafficking in rod photoreceptors. Transports vesicles containing N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor subunit GRIN2A into neuronal dendrites (By similarity).
