Why this annotation
The module is dominated by heat shock proteins: HSPA1A, HSPA1B, HSPA6 (Hsp70 family), DNAJA4, DNAJB1, DNAJB4 (Hsp40/DNAJ co-chaperones), HSPB1 (Hsp27), SERPINH1 (Hsp47). RGS2 is induced by heat stress and other stressors. RHOB is a stress-responsive Rho GTPase, ZFAND2A is a stress granule-associated protein, and PLIN2 can be induced by lipid/ER stress. This is a textbook heat shock / proteotoxic stress response module. As a neighbor of M39 and M62 (immediate early/AP-1 stress), the batch neighborhood confirms these are related stress programs, but M42 is specifically the chaperone-mediated proteotoxic stress arm.
