Why this annotation
The hubs are very long, intron-rich genes: ZNF608, NAALADL2, CACNA1D, FREM1, PHYHIPL, PSD3, VWA8 and SPON1. They show uniform expression across subsets, and most have no coherent shared epithelial function. This pattern fits nuclear or intronic long-gene capture typical of snRNA-seq, not a biological program. A minor colonocyte metabolic flavor is present (SUCLG2, ACSS2 for acetate/SCFA use, GGT6) but is outweighed by the long-gene signature. Its neighbors M51, M75 and M85 show the same long-gene pattern, which supports calling this a shared technical axis.

Module annotations were drafted by a large language model from the module's genes, then reviewed and approved by a domain expert. See sources & licences.
