Why this annotation
Hub genes are nuclear-encoded respiratory chain subunits: complex I (NDUFB10, NDUFB7), complex IV (COX5A) and ATP synthase (ATP5F1D, ATP5ME). CHCHD10 is a mitochondrial intermembrane protein. PRDX2 is an antioxidant peroxidase. Expression is uniform and high across enterocytes, consistent with a baseline OxPhos program. It is a tight neighbor of M19 and M36, which carry other ETC subunits.
