Why this annotation
ANXA1 (annexin A1) is a well-established glucocorticoid effector with potent anti-inflammatory activity; it is highly expressed in tissue-resident and regulatory T cell states. GPR183 (EBI2) is an oxysterol receptor that guides lymphocyte positioning and tissue homing. VIM and TAGLN2 are cytoskeletal proteins associated with migratory/mesenchymal-like states in lymphocytes. PNP (purine nucleoside phosphorylase) is important for purine recycling in T cells. NASP is a histone chaperone. TUBA1C and UBE2A are broadly expressed. ANXA1+GPR183 together indicate a tissue-homing, anti-inflammatory MAIT state, consistent with tissue residence programs.
