Why this annotation
ID1 is a primary transcriptional target of BMP signaling and inhibits E-protein-driven T cell differentiation. SMAD7 is an inhibitory SMAD that attenuates TGF-β/BMP pathway signaling in a negative feedback loop. Together ID1+SMAD7 define a BMP/TGF-β regulatory module. LMNA (lamin A/C) is regulated by TGF-β and modulates nuclear mechanics in differentiating cells. RGS16 is a G-protein regulator induced in context of cytokine signaling. PRR7 and N4BP3 are less characterized but associated with lymphocyte signaling. Low expression (13%) suggests this program is active in a minority subset, consistent with a BMP-responsive or quiescent subpopulation.
