Why this annotation
This module is strongly enriched in inf_colono and significantly upregulated in both UC and CD inflammation, with strong reversal at UC remission. All top hub genes are MHC class II molecules: HLA-DRA, HLA-DPA1, HLA-DPB1, HLA-DRB1, HLA-DRB5, HLA-DQB1, HLA-DMA, HLA-DMB, CD74 (invariant chain/MHC II chaperone). Additional genes include PSMB9 (immunoproteasome subunit), UBE2L6 (ISG15 conjugating enzyme, IFN response), BST2 (tetherin, IFN-induced), IFITM3 (IFN-induced transmembrane protein), C2 (complement component 2). This is a tightly coherent MHC class II antigen presentation module in inflamed colonocytes, driven by IFN-gamma (consistent with neighbor M117). The module is distinct from M117 in focusing on antigen presentation machinery rather than IFN-gamma effector genes.
