Why this annotation
This module is overwhelmingly composed of MHC class II genes: HLA-DPB1, HLA-DPA1, HLA-DMA, HLA-DOA, HLA-DRB1, HLA-DQB1, HLA-DMB, HLA-DQA1, HLA-DRA, HLA-DRB5, HLA-DQA2, and CD74 (invariant chain, essential for MHC-II loading). CIITA is the master transcriptional regulator of MHC class II expression. TNFSF10 (TRAIL) and CST3 (cystatin C) are additional immune-related genes. The module is upregulated in CD inflammation and strongly downregulated in UC remission. Endothelial MHC-II expression is known to occur under IFN-gamma stimulation. Neighbor context: complements M143 (MHC-I) and M86 (IFN-gamma signaling), together forming a complete interferon-driven antigen presentation cluster.
