Why this annotation

This module is dominated by canonical pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines: CXCL3, CXCL1, CXCL8 (IL-8) are neutrophil-recruiting CXC chemokines; IL-6 is a pleiotropic pro-inflammatory cytokine; CSF3 (G-CSF) promotes neutrophil production; CCL2 recruits monocytes; TNFAIP6 is an anti-inflammatory hyaluronan-binding protein induced by TNF/IL-1. RIPK2 is a kinase downstream of NOD1/2 innate immune receptors. G0S2 is a cell cycle/lipolysis regulator induced in inflammation. GLIS3 is a transcription factor. The module shows the strongest inflammation delta scores in the batch (UC: 0.456, CD: 0.611) and decreases with remission. This is a classic NF-κB-driven cytokine/chemokine secretory program in intestinal fibroblasts, consistent with inflammatory CAF (cancer-associated fibroblast-like) or activated stromal fibroblast states in IBD.
