Why this annotation
TYROBP (DAP12) is the key signaling adaptor for multiple NK activating receptors (NKG2C, NKp44, TREM). FCER1G (FcRγ) is the signaling chain for CD16 and other NK activating receptors. HLA-A, HLA-B, HLA-C, HLA-E, and B2M constitute the MHC class I antigen presentation machinery — critical for NK 'missing self' recognition. CLEC2B (AICL) is an NK-activating C-type lectin receptor ligand/receptor. TCIRG1 encodes the V-ATPase a3 subunit involved in lysosomal acidification relevant to cytotoxic granule function. CD48 is a ligand for 2B4 (CD244) on NK cells. Together these genes define NK receptor signaling and MHC-I surveillance machinery.
