Why this annotation
MUC13 and TM4SF20 are enterocyte surface genes. VEGFA, MXD1 and ISG20 are induced by inflammation and hypoxia/HIF, and TMBIM1, LRP10 and CAPN2 relate to membrane stress. This looks like an inflamed-epithelium stress/remodeling program. MUC13 is upregulated in colitis. Among the candidate readouts, hypoxia (VEGFA, MXD1) fits best, but the label is only moderately supported.
