Why this annotation
Top hub NFAT5 (TONEBP/NF-AT5) is an osmotic/hypertonic stress-responsive transcription factor and the only NFAT family member activated by stress rather than calcium. UBL3, UBE2H, UBR1, and UBQLN2 collectively define a ubiquitin-proteasome stress response. BMPR2 (BMP receptor, stress/apoptosis signaling), HIPK3 (stress kinase), and RTN4 (Nogo/reticulon, ER stress) further support a cellular stress response program. HTT (huntingtin, protein aggregation/stress) and BAZ1A (chromatin remodeling under stress) are peripheral. Moderate coherence with many weak members. The dominant theme is osmotic/proteotoxic stress response centered on NFAT5.
