Why this annotation

The top hub CTCF is one of the most important chromatin architectural proteins in the genome, binding insulator elements and organizing topologically associating domains (TADs). PBRM1 is a subunit of the PBAF SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex, directly regulating chromatin accessibility. KDM4A is a histone demethylase targeting H3K9me2/3 and H3K36me3, directly modifying chromatin state. HP1BP3 binds heterochromatin protein 1 and participates in heterochromatin maintenance. NFATC2IP acts as a corepressor of NFAT transcription factors via chromatin compaction. GMCL1 (germ cell-less homolog) associates with chromatin and represses transcription. RCC2 regulates RanGTP gradient important for chromosome segregation. RFC1 loads the PCNA clamp during DNA replication and repair. HNRNPUL2 and RSRC1 are RNA processing factors that may reflect co-regulation of chromatin-associated RNA. CBFB is a transcription factor (core binding factor beta) that works with RUNX proteins to regulate gene expression. The module overall represents higher-order chromatin organization and epigenetic gene regulation.
